Hydroponic Systems information

Used on U.S. You’ll find many different types of systems available at stores and websites that sell hydroponic supplies, but you’ll want a good supply, as activated carbon filters require periodic changing.

The Importance of Carbon Air Filters

Although “hydroponics” literally means “water gardening,” air purification is an important component. Air purification is important in hydroponics as well as good, clean water in maintaining hydroponic systems.
Activated carbon filters represent one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways to purify air as well as water. It’s a good idea to have a blower of some kind that brings in plenty of fresh air to the space, but carbon filters are necessary in order to remove various potential toxins from the environment as well.

There’s another important reason why when engaging in activities related to indoor horticulture, carbon filters are important, and that is to keep odors at a minimum.

Types of Carbon Air Filters

There are several types of carbon filters available:

• Powdered activated carbon (PAC)

• Granulated activated carbon (GAC)

• Extruded activated carbon (EAC)

• Impregnated carbon

• Polymers coated carbon

• Activated carbon fiber

Each of these has a specific use, not all of which are appropriate for hydroponic systems and indoor gardens.

By the way, carbon air filters are not effective when it comes to inorganic chemicals (the exception being chlorine, which is why activated carbon is good for water treatment). One of the challenges maintaining indoor hydroponic systems and indoor gardens is eliminating the many airborne contaminants that can cause your plants to sicken and even die. However, chances are that your plants won’t be producing sodium or any nitrates, and it’s unlikely to enter your indoor gardens from the outside.

Replace Your Carbon Air Filters as Recommended

There is a limit to how much in the way of organic contaminants activated carbon filters can absorb; therefore, they need to be changed regularly.

How Do Carbon Filters Work?

It is not possible to see the process by which activated carbon purifies air and water, nor even under any but the most powerful electron microscope. Because of this surface area, organic chemicals that have a tendency to bond to carbon are virtually unable to pass through and are trapped. Carbon is activated by treating charcoal with oxygen, which opens up millions of “micropores” in the surface of the granules on the atomic level. You can extend the life of your carbon filters by using them in combination with HEPA filters.

This provides a relatively huge surface in relation to size â€ÂÂ" up to 2,000 square meters per gram! Indoor air filters are of the GAC type. Navy submarines, granulated activated carbon filters contain a form of that element of which the granules are relatively larger than that found in powdered activated carbon air filters.

WhatâÃÂÃÂs hot- AgriProcessors?

Dr. Even the investigators became sick as they started working at AgriProcessors as a result of extreme temperature, animal body fluids and dangerous working conditions.

Non vegetarians supporting cruelty- Everyday at AgriProcessors slaughter house hundreds of animals bear the unimaginable cruelty. Parents think a lot, consult various books and websites to seek for some good name that has its unique existence and meaning. But now girl child gets the equal right like the boys. Once they visit the slaughterhouse, majority of non-vegetarian will change to vegetarian for sure. Some of the good and meaningful boys’ names with their origins from different languages are mentioned below:-

• Falan- fruitful, Indian
• Fabrico- artisan, Spanish
• Fergie- strength of man, English
• Fabrizio- craftsman, Italian
• Fawgi- victorious, Arabic

It was in the olden days, that girl child was given less importance. Routine cruel treatment to animals includes the standard procedures like breaking off without painkiller, cutting horns etc… to sadism like throw, torture, kicks etc… even in one of the farm in North Carolina, a pig’s leg was sawed off and his skin was peeled off, while she was in her full conscious.

A joyous occasion in the life of parents

After the blessing in the form of the child, parents find it a joyous occasion to have the baby in their arms. They have overlooked all the federal laws by defacing fully conscious animals and killing them without giving any time to flee.

More: even after receiving the complaints against violation of federal laws and kosher at AgriProcessor, a large slaughterhouse that produces Iowa’s best meats and Rubashkin’s, Aaron’s best meat, request for the reforms goes unheeded. The worse working conditions were found like no safety training, verbal harassment, low wages and severe injuries.

Choosing the name for your baby is the other enjoyable task for the parents. Scholars, USDA inspectors and animal welfare experts are all against this extreme cruelty to animals.

More details: the horrible conditions at AgriProcessors are pitiful. Even the cows and chickens are abused cruelly at the slaughterhouse. Temple Grandin, the leading slaughter expert advised kosher slaughter system how to avoid the worst abuses.
The world’s largest acceptable slaughterhouse, AgriProcessors, is paying no heed to the Jewish commitment to compassion. Certain complaints to company officials have been made to bring some reforms to end this cruelty to animals. So when boys can have unique names, why can’t girls. But along with it, there is some amount of trepidations and stress to make the necessary arrangements for him. PETA has received the support from countless people all over the world for the quick action to stop this cruelty to animals. Here are some of the unique, good and meaningful girls’ names with their origin:-

• Fahe-fairy, French
• Felician- happiness, Hungarian
• Faylinn- a graceful woman, Irish
• Fatima- daughter of the prophet, Arabic
• Fanny- free, American

Finding Hydroponic systems at a good price

The pump for this system remains active for roughly 15 minutes, until the high nutrition water soluble fluid reaches the required level.

There are a variety of hydroponic systems available, however when you’re choosing one it’s best to do your research and know exactly what you want before buying one.

There are a variety of different hydroponic systems available; however there are only a select few systems that the others are based upon. These hydroponic systems are:

Wick
This hydroponic systems does not require an aquarium air pump as it uses a common candle wick. This is the major drawback and tends to produce less surviving plants, in the long run.

Ebb and Flow
This indoor gardening system is also known as the Flood and Drain system. It is an indoor growing system that requires an aquarium air pump to push the rich water soluble nutrients to the plant roots where low oxygen contained air is constantly changed air rich in high density oxygen. To stabilize the plant, a growing medium, like rockwool, is used.

Nutrient Film Technique
This indoor growing hydroponics system is a recovery system that requires the help of gravity, through the means of slanted grow tubes which take the rich nutrient fluid back into the unit. It is considered as an active system due to the usage of a pump to push the solution to the nutrient lines that thread through each plant, connecting them for supplying proper balanced nutrition.

Aeroponic
In this hydroponics system the roots of the plants are continuously misted with nutrient solution. Roots are suspended in midair and receive air constantly. As far as hydroponic systems goes, this one is not for the beginner as it’s better suited for the advanced gardener. This system required higher maintenance and more technical knowledge. As this indoor gardening system required low maintenance so this is a great pick for the beginner hydroponics hobbyist.

Continuous Drip
As another good beginner system, this hydroponics active system may be used for both, a recover / non-recovery depending on whether or not a tray is used underneath to collect and recycle the nutrient solution. It uses these wicks to move the water soluble rich nutritional solution from the clay pellets or even lava chips to the plant roots. The reason being is that the plant roots are totally dependent on the continual flow of the nutrients for sustaining plants. When this happens, the drainage tube drains the excess fluids back into the holding tank. The nutrient mist consists of 20% oxygen, which allows the plan to access a maximum amount of oxygen possible which results in tremendous growth of the plant. This hydroponic grow system is the most inexpensive route, but it can become unhealthy for the plants as they become too wet. These growing tubes allow the plant roots to be exposed to the nutrient solution which makes this system less forgiving.

Solar Powering Your RV

Factors to consider are how many people will be traveling with you, how big your particular model of RV is, and what activities you anticipate using your RV for. Here are some basic things to consider in order to create an efficiently-running solar system for your travels.

First, establish the size of your load. A luxury comfort that solar systems provide is that they produce zero noise.
A lot of RV owners consider their vehicle to be just as much of a home as their actual house. It is important to find out how much estimated sunlight will be reaching your area when you travel, and many resources are available to help you acquire this knowledge. Your solar energy provider can help you determine what your RV will need.

How much sunlight will you expect to get in your location? One watt-hour is the amount of energy expended by a one-watt load that draws power for one hour. Solar systems require no special skills to operate, no assembly, virtually no maintenance, and of course, they’re great for the environment! RVs are usually intended for the purpose of getting away from it all, and relaxing, so what better way to achieve that, than to cut back on sound pollution? For dry camping enthusiasts, solar power is a must. This includes light bulbs, heater fans, water pumps, TVs, radios, coffee pots, amongst other miscellaneous items, and the estimated amount of time each of these items is used per day. And like all things solar, not only are there environmental benefits, but solar power is rewarding in a practical sense as well.

For instance, solar systems weigh less than a small generator that RVs are usually outfitted with, not to mention the gasoline they require. And clearly, RV owners want their machine to run faster and better, so less weight (and fumes) is always the best bet! For example, a rough estimate of power needed for a family camping trip is 325 watt hours. Your solar panel can also be adjusted to different angles throughout the day, to absorb the maximum amount of sunlight possible.

Adding solar power to your life is a great way to save the environment and your money.  Find solar powered products and information at solarpoweredlife.com and  start going green today.
You can feel good knowing that your family vacation or road trip is not polluting the beautiful scenery that you bought your RV to enjoy in the first place.

Now that we know why solar power is a great alternative to traditional methods of powering recreational vehicles, how can we apply this knowledge to our RVs? The Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology or CREST, can help you find out how much sunlight different locations receive, at different times of the year. So can the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). That’s why it only makes sense to consider a solar-powered RV as well as a solar home, especially when you spend a great amount of time on the road. Dry camping entails extended camping trips with limited facilities.

Peak Oil and the '08 Election

Ethanol conversion and use is another issue that will continue to influence price inflation, as greater demand for alternative fuels increases. Their reasoning is that consumers will feel the pinch of driving costs most over the summer, which means some offset in price would be more appreciated. Some type of initiative between oil-producing nations will eventually have to be made to move towards more sustainable levels of consumption, but growing divisive political sentiments make it unlikely for anything major to happen until someone new is in the Oval Office.

Escapeso Real Estate helps investors looking for Austin real estate. Indeed, their combined oil consumption outpaced that of the US for the first time in 2007. Many economists already believe that the globe has reached peak oil, or the zenith of possible oil production. The largest oil company in the US has seen stagnant margins in most quarters since 2005 without being able to increase production. In fact, their overall production fell 10 percent. Demand in the US has also contracted 2 percent since the beginning of the credit crunch last summer, so Exxon's profits have been reaped in large part because of increasing price pressure on consumers, many of whom have looking to Congress for some relief. Both Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton and Republican Senator John McCain have endorsed the idea of temporarily removing the federal gas tax over the summer months. However, one factor must surely be worrisome to most every American: oil companies haven't been getting en! ough of the stuff out of the ground. This means that energy will only become scarcer and more expensive, and the 18.5 cent federal gas tax will only be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to government intervention. Oil futures are now projected to exceed $100 a barrel until 2016, and continue to sit comfortably near the $115-120 a barrel mark. Many different causes have been blamed for rising prices at the pump, ranging from massive speculation to supply instability in some oil-producing nations. However, there is no guarantee that the tax break will reach consumer directly, as many other secondary industries besides the oil companies price their profits into gasoline. Senator Barack Obama has also criticized the two candidates, stating that they were "reading from the same political playbook." However, he hasn't offered forth an alternative.

Exxon Mobil's $11 billion quarterly profit disappointed Wall Street and investors alike, their shares falling 4 percent on May 1st. Their site provides a free graphical search of the Austin MLS along with information on current mortgage interest rates.

The headlines this month have been taken by the most insidious of America's vices: black gold. Oil prices aren't going down by much even if such a tax break is implemented, primarily because demand from developing countries like China and India continues to grow. They may be looking for a while, as representatives have been less than forthcoming on bipartisan measures since they passed the economic stimulus package into law in February.

It is therefore difficult to project how difficult it will be for hard-hit US consumers in the near term, much less come November.

The two Democratic candidates running for President have sharply contrasted on how to address record oil inflation.

Water Damage Restoration- In Fact, Water Damage Is Downright Hazardous To Your Health!

In addition, structural damage to the building could cause injuries due to falling debris and unstable footings. In fact, water damage is downright hazardous to your health!
When your home has water damage, be it from a burst pipe, overflowing sewer, leaking roof, or natural flood, it is in dire need of restoration.

What’s involved in water damage restoration? Disinfecting all surfaces is a must. In addition, the contents of your home may need to be repaired or replaced.

Cleaning up water damage is a major project requiring speed, expertise, safety precautions, equipment, cleaners, disinfectants, and reconstruction know-how.

Water Damage
Instead, water damage restoration companies are equipped to restore your home promptly and professionally. You can minimize losses and future damage by acting promptly. Even if the water damage is due to a broken washing machine hose, the clean water that spills soon mixes with the dirt and grime embedded deep within your carpet and carpet pad.

Once everything has been cleaned, dried, and disinfected, the water damage restoration job is not over.

Before you can begin cleaning up, you must stop the inflow of water. You may need to replace or repair carpets, floorboards, baseboards, wallpaper, drywall, electrical systems, pipes, insulation, cabinets, and other building materials. The longer water soaks your home and belongings, the more damage occurs. Plus, mold starts to grow in moist environments making it essential to dry out the home ASAP. Likewise, if a burst pipe is shooting water into the house, turning off the water supply to the home is your first step followed by emergency repairs.

Other issues involve removing water-soaked insulation, determining if asbestos is present in water damaged walls or ceilings, and reinforcing damaged floors and ceilings. Time is of the essence as well. When the water recedes, not only is the residue left behind muddy and messy, it’s dangerous. Now, it’s time for repairs. Stabilizing the environment, cleaning, disinfecting, drying, and repairing. Opening windows and setting up a ventilation system such as fans is also an important step for stabilizing the environment. For example, if your water damage is the result of a hole in the roof, you must secure the roof so that the water stops flowing inside. There’s more to water damage restoration than simply mopping up and drying out the home. Depending on the nature of the flooding, this step may come after cleaning.

Next, standing water, mud, and debris must be removed. Don’t do it on your own.

First, if your home is flooded, the immediate danger is electrocution. This cleaning step should be followed by disinfecting because rarely is water damage “clean.” For example, floodwaters from swollen rivers carry fertilizer, sewage, chemicals, and other hazards. The water itself may be carrying dangerous chemicals, raw sewage, or microorganisms that can make you sick.

Even when the home has been declared safe to enter, water damage restoration isn’t easy and is best left to a professional. Let the experts handle the mess â€ÂÂ" they’ll prevent further damage and dry out your home ASAP.

Fresno Flooding-How To Deal With The Damage

While the levees and flood control systems are in place, they aren’t a guarantee against flooding as evidenced by aging levees and their failure to pass FEMA’s 100-year flood certification. Once the floodwaters have gone down and it’s safe to return to your home, the next step is to mop up and repair the damage. Remaining safe is priority number one during all phases of the flood. In Fresno County, most of the existing levees were not certified to withstand a 100-year flood event. Disaster preparedness starts with information. Let a professional water damage restoration company help you get your home back in pre-flood shape, safely and effectively. If you live outside of the flood zone, flooding remains possible. You don’t have to do it on your own.

So, what do you do to protect your family and home if you live in Fresno County? Consider purchasing federal flood insurance because your homeowner’s policy won’t cover this type of water damage.

The National Weather Service offers a River Forecast Center for California and Nevada with real-time data indicating current river conditions. Learn about the flood threats to your home, office, school, and other locations that you regularly visit. View the most current FEMA flood maps to see if your home has been re-designated as being located in a flood plain. In fact, flooding occurred frequently before the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District and related flood control and urban drainage systems came into being.

Today, flood control systems consisting of a series of ponding basins, channels, and other facilities divert storm water away from both rural and urban areas.

Like many counties in northern and central California, Fresno County relies on a system of levees to hold back floodwaters.

Water Damage In addition, FEMA changed a huge swatch of land from Zone X (which signifies levee protection in a 100-year flood) to Zone A â€ÂÂ" flood hazard.

The area most significantly affected by this change is mainly north of Kings River between the Fresno Slough and Highway 99; the Fresno Slough corridor; and areas between Mendota Pool and Firebaugh west of the San Joaquin River. Over 7200 homes previously considered “protected” are now designated as being in a flood plain.

No matter which city you live in including Clovis, Coalinga, Fresno, Kingsburg, and San Joaquin, flooding is inevitable. River and rain gauges located along key points throughout the two states help predict slow-rise and flash floods.

The state of California also provides valuable information regarding flooding on its Department of Water Resources Flood Management web page (http://www.dfm.water.ca.gov/). However, FEMA recently revised its flood maps. You’ll find a wealth of information and links here to help you better understand flooding in Fresno County.

In addition to learning about the flood risk, learn about what to do before, during, and after a flood. Charts show you exactly how high the river is currently compared to the monitor and flood stages. If your home or other location is likely to be affected by floodwaters, pay attention to weather forecasts and river levels.

Texas Friendly Flowers

There are a multitude of choices available out there, so next time you go to a nursery, make sure you do your homework first or ask the people running the nursery which plants and flowers are native to Texas. Sage comes in several other varieties, too, including Majestic Sage, Mealy Blue Sage and Mexican Sage bushâ€ÂÂ"all of which produce beautiful flowers and require very little water, just like Cedar Sage. Preferring sun or partial shade, they can be planted almost anywhere.

Mexican Honeysuckle is another low-water plant.
Do you love the beauty and color of flowers but cringe at the thought of the maintenance required for their upkeep?

These are only a few of the many ideal plants for your Texas landscape. His site provides a free search of the Austin MLS along with a blog covering news and statistics on the Austin Texas real estate market.
Just choose your plants wisely and you can have fabulous landscaping for your property with little work.

There are many benefits to growing native plants. It is also nice to help maintain the original ecosystem of your locale by promoting local plants and flowers. It only requires an occasional pruning to encourage full growth.

Ornamental grasses are another option for sprucing up your landscape, and there are many hardy varieties to choose from, such as Big Muhly, Little Bluestem and Dwarf Fountain Grass.

Trailing Lantana is another great choice, especially when used as a ground cover. Your gardening is also more enjoyable when you are not fighting mother nature in an attempt to grow plants that are not suited to the Texas Climate. The city of Austin has a Grow Green plant list featuring native and adapted landscape plants that thrive in Texas. It displays its orange flowers spring to frost, attracting hummingbirds with its sweet smell.

Perennials are an essential part of a vibrant landscape, and a beautiful choice for any Texas flowerbed is Cedar Sage. Flora native or adapted to the Austin area thrive where others perish, resisting drought, pests and other hazards. The city of Austin has worked to promote a green and environmentally friendly city. These daisy-like flowers are a Texas native and produce violet or white blooms. It is very tolerant of poor conditions, highly drought resistant, and its lavender flowers are very attractive to butterflies.

Purple Cone Flowers, also know as Echinacea, require a little more water than the previous plants, but they are nonetheless exceptional specimens for an Austin garden. In addition to saving on water and fertilizer you save on time by choosing plants that thrive in the unique climate of Austin Texas. By planting smart you can save water, fertilizer and time.

Ki works as a realtor in the central Austin real estate market helping individuals looking for homes as well as investors looking for cashflow properties. A shade lover, Cedar Sage has bright red spiky flowers that bloom spring through summer and can bring a pop of color to an otherwise gloomy spot in your yard. If your colorful blooms have a tendency to turn brown and crunchy from neglect in the hot Austin sun, there may be some flowers made just for you. Some grasses can be quite invasive, so be careful where you plant them, because they will thrive and take over.

Growing Mediums for indoor gardening

Contrary to what you may have heard, rockwool is not obtained from stone sheep; it is made from melted sand and rock, which is then spun into fibers (such like “cotton candy”) that can be made into numerous useful shapes and sizes.

Advantages of Rockwool

Rockwool has distinct advantages over other types of growing mediums. hydroponics is a form of gardening that is usually done indoors and without soil, but growing mediums are still necessary.

What Are The Choices?

If you’re planning to do your growing indoors, you find a number of Growing Mediums from which to choose. Since it sticks together, it is easy to avoid the creation of large messes.

Disadvantages

As with all hydroponic supplies, there are certain drawbacks to rockwool as well. It comes in many different sizes â€ÂÂ" up to 1’ by 3’ slabs three inches thick. You can also purchase loose granules of rockwool. Among these is the fact that in holds a substantial amount of water; in addition, almost 20% of rockwool cubes or plugs consists of air.

These two facts protect your efforts at growing indoors in two ways:

(A) It provides a “safety buffer” in case of power outage or pump failure

(B) It provides the roots with sufficient oxygen, making it impossible to over-water.

Rockwool cubes and rockwool plugs are easy to work with as well. Disposal of used rockwool is a problem, as the substance is practically indestructible â€ÂÂ" and therefore, not bio-degradable.
You’ll find a wide range of growing mediums at most retail outlets that carry hydroponic supplies as well as websites through which you can order hydroponic supplies. Among the most popular are:

- Expanded clay pellets

- Oasis Cubes

- Coconut Fiber

- Sand

- Gravel

- Perlite

- Sphagum Moss

- Water

- Vermiculite

- Fiberglass Insulation

- Sawdust

- Proprietary Soilless Mix

- Air

- Lava Rock

- Rockwool

The last one is available in two different forms: rockwool cubes and rockwool plugs. It is also the most popular and commonly used by those whose gardens are growing indoors.

About Rockwool

Originally used as home insulation, it was the Danish hydroponics community that first thought of using it as one of their growing mediums. As long as proper precautions are taken however, rockwool can be one of the most easy-to-use growing mediums available.

It requires at least 24 hours of preparatory soaking before it is ready for use, and since it is very alkaline, you will need to adjust your nutrient solution and monitor pH levels regularly.

Finally, growing mediums such as rockwool and vermiculite can health hazards. Vermiculite is sometimes contaminated with asbestos, and rockwool dust can cause silicosis if ingested into the lungs.

Bromeliad Plants Basics

The well-known pineapple is the fruit of a plant in the Bromeliad family. One last thing to try is to put the plant in a plastic for about a week with a ripe apple. Once a plant is mature enough to start blooming, it can be encouraged to bloom by doing the following: properly fertilized, watered regularly, adequate light, warmth (a lamp near by may help), and, add a small amount of Epsom salts to soil (for the magnesium).

Some plants may still resist blooming. It is easy to grow and hardy.
In the plant family, Bromeliaceae, there is a wide range of variety in the shape, color, and size of the plants. Air circulation and humidity assure the Bromeliad plant will flourish in a home.
A Bromeliad bloom can be one of a wide variety of colors. Bromeliad plants that are cultivated for indoor environments often have the following common appearance traits: no stems, central flower spike, strap-shaped leaves, leathery texture, and arched leaves arranged in a rosette.
Bromeliad care is easy. Mostly they are cultivated for indoors but grow well out doors in warm and humid environments. When Bromeliads are in their native environment they get their nutrients from the air and rain. When a Bromeliad plant is preparing to bloom, the leaves on the upper part of the plant will also change color, intensifying the appearance of the Bromeliad bloom. The apple will emit ethylene gas and this will trigger blooming. This will only occur once in the life of a Bromeliad. These Bromeliad plants develop a special root structure so that it can attach itself to tree trunks, branches, and even rocks. These Bromeliads are known as saxicolous. Many types of Bromeliads are terrestrial and grow in the ground like most plants do. The appearance of species in an individual genus can have drastic differences. Its "pups" can be transplanted to add to and indoors or outdoors garden. The plant only blooms once in its lifetime, but with the variation in leav! es, the Bromeliad is still a good choice for home décor and gardens. They can also be shared with friends or sold at swap meets.

Bob helps people with Bromeliad Plant by writing articles about Bromeliads Care and other related topics. This plant is adaptable to indoor and outdoor environments and is related to Spanish moss. Surprisingly each type of Bromeliad can switch places and adapt to its new environment!

Bromeliads can provide beautiful blooms. Once it blooms the plant will focus on producing the next generation of Bromeliads and "pup" will begin to sprout up around the plant. During this time keep the plant and bag out of direct sunlight.

A well cared for Bromeliad will beauty to any home or garden.
The Bromeliad plant has a cycle of life that provides beautiful foliage, a dramatic bloom, and efficient reproduction.

Bromeliads are native to American Tropics. The types of Bromeliad plant that are commonly grown will only produce one flower at a time.

Living with the Earth

Over the next several centuries, no one organization is going to save us from making our planet uninhabitable for mankind. Certainly the Earth is home to all of us; plants, animals and humans. We need to bring our awareness to the higher level. The planet does not care about us; we need to care about the planet. If we don’t worry about the Earth today, there will not be a home for those born in seven generations. Live each day for those who will be born many generations from now. We have lost our true connection as a whole to our planet. We must talk and act now. The situation is clear. We need to set and keep a place suitable for those yet to be born. Energy, Health and Awareness offers individual, couple and group classes
that teach participants how to find happiness in every aspect of their life, be excited and kick bad habits. Most people lose the sense of caring, the connection, and the responsibility, about three generations into the future. Why do we act as if we are guests on our planet?

We live in homes. Do you think that the EPA, for example, will exist 400 years from now?

If one seven generations out could confront you today and ask "Why?” What would your answer be? You care about your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

It is easy to say "Why should I care?” Stop and consider where you would be had the earth been sucked dry just three generations ago. If you want to be a starting point for those born centuries from now you must do your part to keep our planet Earth green and plentiful. The responsibility should be clear. Our planet is not. Our homes are expendable. Why shouldn't we discuss this as individuals? Make those changes now.

The need for a green planet is apparent. The truth is, the Earth will give until it is empty and cannot give anymore. We are creating the end of humanity, here and now. Groups and organizations are great, but their strength and capabilities are only as good as the individuals in them.

Let's make our home, our planet, ready.

Gilbert Phillis, along with his partner Jutta Poser, have formed Energy, Health and Awareness, LLC in Colorado. The organization offers a system to integrate mind, body and
soul so you can be in the moment fully, release stress, improve physical health and increase mental focus.
We take care of our homes, but not the Earth. For more information info@youreha.com or 720-838-5947.
What would you change about how you live? Each of us must resolve that lack of caring within ourselves.

So, where does your ability to care stop? We must ask ourselves these questions, why do we, as a collective, not take care with the Earth?
Living with the Earth â€ÂÂ"by Gilbert Phillis

Let us look at this green earth idea realistically. We live as though this planet will give as much as we want for as long as we want. We live on the Earth. Don’t wait.

Boost veggies with side-dressing of nitrogen fertilizer

For three feet of row, that's one tablespoon (one teaspoon per foot).
Many vegetable crops benefit from a side-dressing of nitrogen fertilizer after making considerable growth or starting to fruit, unless a slow-release fertilizer was applied at planting time.

In a side-dress application, the nitrogen fertilizer is applied along the sides of the plants, about six inches away from the stems, either along the row or around individual plants, such as tomatoes.

A Purdue publication on vegetable gardening, HO-32-W, suggests using ammonium nitrate, which has an analysis of 33-0-0, as the fertilizer material. For example, if you side-dress tomato plants, spaced four feet apart, you should use one level tablespoon (three teaspoons) of urea around each plant.

The time for side-dressing depends on the crop. However, it's not readily available, and other forms of fertilizer can be used on an equivalent basis.

One is urea, which has an analysis of 46-0-0. It can become volatile, escape into the air and burn the leaves and should be incorporated immediately by lightly tilling it into the soil or watering it in with irrigation.

The general application rate for ammonium nitrogen is about one pound, or about one pint, per 100 feet of row.

*Obtain a copy of the publication, 'Home Gardener's Guide', from an Extension Service office in Indiana for details on fertilizing vegetable crops.

*Deadhead or remove spent blossoms from early-blooming perennials to prevent seed formation and encourage re-bloom later this season or next year.

*Remove vegetable crops such as lettuce, which have bolted (formed seed stalks), and replant the areas with bush green beans.

*Thin fruit from apple trees after the June drop of excess fruit. Space remaining fruit about 6 inches apart (one per cluster on the average), to obtain larger and higher quality fruit.

*Plant seeds of cole crops (cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower) to obtain transplants to set out in late July for a fall harvest.

Steve Buchanan writes article on many topics including Honda Generator, Yard machines snowblower and Murray lawn mower When urea is used, apply slightly less, or about 1 1/2 cups per 100 feet of row, 2 1/4 teaspoons per three feet of row or 3/4 teaspoon per foot of row. Side-dress tomatoes about two weeks after the first fruit sets, two weeks after picking the first tomato and again one month later. The cole crops (cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli) should be side-dressed three weeks after setting out plants, onions about one to two weeks after bulb formation and peppers after the first fruit sets.

Side-dress cucumbers one week after blossoming begins and three weeks later; peas and beans, after heavy bloom and set of pods; and sweet corn when plants are 8-10 inches tall and one week after tassels appear. It's important not to apply more than the recommended amount of nitrogen or damage to plant roots can occur.

The third week of June is the time to ...

The Green Light to Go Eco-friendly

Here are some insights on how to be eco-friendly:

1. Electricity and oil are two prime sources that the world is running out and if we do not act soon, we may use it all up. By our comfort zone we are of course referring to our preference to live the lifestyle we have been accustomed to, regardless if it is against environmental concerns we are exposed to today. There are some of us who have acknowledged this act and have gone forth to make sure that green standards can still be saved.

There are things we can do to save the planet. It is about knowing when to use lights or which appliances to operate. It just doesn’t work that way if we are to get a turnaround for our beloved earth today. Conservation. Energy conservation is more than being concerned about the savings we can get from our normal electricity bill.
The environmental hazards are for real and we are witnessing them now. The toxins bring diseases and illnesses to people who in turn have to seek medical help to make sure that they sustain their overall health and upkeep. Ones trash is the trash of the world. Segregating your trash would never hurt and it will surely be something you can do voluntarily. They come in various ways and normally we would fail to recognize the eco-friendly shortcomings we have all been talking about mainly because we choose not to pry away from our comfort zone. Becoming eco-friendly is not really hard. Cars with faulty emissions and smoking are contributors to a dampened atmosphere which makes air today hard to breathe in. It goes as far as eating and wearing eco-friendly stuff we hear today.

The list goes on. Most of them are not pointed towards us directly.

3. No one else makes the issues of global warming and climate changes worst other than the inhabitants of this planet called earth. Pollution comes from waste as well. But it takes more than a couple of people to make a difference. Pollution. SUVs can still be around but we just have to categorize why people want to use them over the standard car. We have seen pileups and dumps becoming overloaded and the worst part is that they are contagious.

2.

If you look at it, we are indeed to blame. Much of them are not that hard to do and all we need is focus and the willingness to accept change. We just have to condition our minds that being green is something that comes from voluntary acts and not because we see the world doing it. For cars, using economical automobiles over the larger consuming SUVs is something to consider. It has to be a total effort on the part of every inhabitant of this world today. This is of course aimed at luxury driving. It may not be immediate but gradual implementation is something that we should all be accustomed to. Waste Management. Further, it has become a means for airborne diseases to reside in and hence make their way into the bodies because as we all know that air is essential to breathing today for most humans.

Great Locations for Wind Turbines

You may have seen the tall turbines standing in the fields when you drive by. There are several different locations today that you might see wind turbines offshore and there are more building in the future. They don't bother the view as much when they are out on the water and the noise that they make cannot be heard on land. You experience energy from the wind whenever someone runs past you quickly. The average wind speed is higher on the water because the water has less surface roughness and can use every part of energy from the wind. The size of the towers can be minimal but this causes controversy as well because the smaller the tower the lesser amount of energy to produce. There are advantages and disadvantages to each one. A second after they pass you can feel the wind from them going by. We have to weigh the results with the problems to see which way may be best for everyone. There is another concern that the shoreline wind farms are not in the best i! nterests of those who wish to come to the shore line to visit. There are several different locations that are perfect for the wind power and depending on where they are as to how much energy they produce.

OffShore Turbines can be placed offshore in order to produce energy from wind in the air and from the water. They are on water so they can produce enough energy compared to being totally on the land.
Because the sea shore lines are considered to be very windy due to the tides coming in and the wind on the water, it becomes the perfect location for a turbine. It becomes a sight to see and hear the generation of power through these wind mills. The one main complaint with people and turbines is the noise they make. When a tower is built offshore it may cost more money in the long run because the towers need to be higher so there will be no restrictions. It is constant and annoying to some. There is the older classic model windmill that helped to crush grain when the windmill blades would turn, it would turn a mechanism inside which was attached to a device that would crush grain for flour. Turbines access power through undersea cable which may use high vol! tage direct current. There are issues and concerns with how wildlife is using these towers and zones for their nesting and habitats.

Off shore and near shore are the choices we have. This may sound difficult but it is possible. The other complaint is that they are tall and not pleasant to look at.

While all of these are true the main reason for wind turbines is to find an alternative to using fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources to produce our power. The sea salt may also cut down on the length of time these turbines stay in shape. This wind that you feel if produced in a great amount can be converted into energy.
Wind turbines are used for several reasons but the main reason is to generate energy from the wind.

Near Shore These turbines can be seen but not heard.

Information on Hydroponics and more

There are many different hydroponic systems on the market today. This system allows a slow moving stream of fertilizer solutions (film) to be placed over the roots of the plants that have been placed on sloped channels. When the timer shuts off the pump, the nutrients are drained back into a holding tank and provide a rush of oxygen to the plant roots.

- The Drip: This hydroponics system is also controlled by a pump and timer, and can be used as either a recovery or non-recovery system. Some of these hydroponic supplies consist of:

- fans
- air cleaners
- huts
- ionizers
- pumps
- lighting systems
- cooling systems
- odor control products

There are a variety of different systems available; however there are only a select few hydroponic systems that the others are based upon. These hydroponics systems are:

- Ebb and Flow: this works by occasionally flooding the plant bed in different set intervals of time and with the help of a pump.

There are a variety of benefits for using your choice of the many hydroponic systems for doing your indoor gardening:

- plants growing indoors that use hydroponics tend to grow more quickly than their counterparts grown in soil
- indoor gardening can be done throughout the year
- hydroponic systems can be placed in small spaces anywhere; ideal for the apartment dweller hobbyist and classrooms
- plants growing indoors are less likely to contract diseases and pests
- indoor gardening is possible thanks to the help of artificial lighting available on the market today
- is less demanding as it requires no digging, top-soil maintenance or weeding

Thanks to the help of new technology there is a large selection of hydroponics supplies available on the market today.
Hydroponic systems allow greenhouses or the home hobbyist a method of growing plans through the means of using mineral nutrient solutions as an alternative to soil. When this stream reaches the end of the table, the stream flows into a holding tank and is used over the plant roots again during their next feeding cycle.

- Aeroponic: This one of the hydroponic systems that produces a continuous thin mist of nutrient solution on top of the plant rooms.

This pump floods the plant roots with nutrient solution for a short while. Although using hydroponics were not realized until the 1800s, hydroponics have been come a key player due to their capacity of being used where the ground and/or climate cannot support growing plant life. The non-recovery indoor gardening drip system works in the same way, however it does not allow for accumulation of nutrients and it does not recycle that excess.

- Nutrient Film Technique (NFT): This worldwide used growing system was developed in order that plants can be grown in areas that are known for their deprived soil quality. This system drips nutrient solution on the plant roots, while the excess nutrients are collected within a holding tank and re-used.

All the dirt on rubbish removal services

Like most production operations, printing houses also produce harmful wastes. It also means recycling and reusing paper and other supplies whenever possible. It’s also reassuring to know that our printing requirements will not endanger the earth by adding toxins and harmful pollutants, or by depleting natural resources. There is a conscious effort everywhere to go green, stop environmental pollution and save the planet we live in. Studies have shown that these compounds, when inhaled, greatly increase the risk of asthma attacks. Printing houses produce what are known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), caused by the use of petroleum-based inks, laminates, varnishes and adhesives. We have also started to think how such harmful effects can be diminished and keep the planet green. It’s always comforting to know that we’re doing our part to protect and conserve the environment. Printing jobs are still in need and printing pr! esses everywhere are keeping busy with a steady influx of orders everyday. Sending all our printing jobs to certified green printers offering eco-friendly printing services can go a long way in helping conserve the environment and ensure a greener tomorrow for our children. This new heightened awareness has necessitated the need to take a fresh look into industries and commercial organizations, which have long been blamed, to varying extents, for polluting the environment and depleting the earth’s natural resources. After all, we all owe it to the planet that we can call home in this vast universe.

This is also an age marked by an increased awareness about environmental issues. Everybody should insist on printing green. Producing paper and the electricity used for factory operations, as well as the actual printing process, demand lots of fossil fuels.
No matter what one would have us believe, printing services are still among the most sought after services. Their goal is to be “sustainable printers”, meaning they will be carefully planning operations to minimize electricity use, put a lighter drain on natural resources and source paper from companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which is virtually synonymous with well-managed forests that adhere to strict environmental standards. Printers, thus, put a major strain on the planet, draining her natural resources in alarming magnitude.

Certified eco-friendly printing services keep track of the total energy usage and implement strategies for offsetting the environmental impact of their businesses. Even in this age of electronic communication and ‘paperless’ offices, mankind has not been able to fully shrug off the need for paper. The issue of conservation is no less important than the need to st! op polluting the environment. Eco-friendly printing is all about a successful merging of the two.

It is surprising to learn that the paper and printing industry ranks fourth among manufacturers in the amount of energy used. That’s what “green printing” is all about.

By choosing eco-friendly printing services for all our printing needs, we can show that we really care about our environment and act as responsible citizens of the planet.

However, this is only half of what “eco-friendly printing services” are really all about. As a result, measures are being adopted by many printers worldwide to comply with existing regulations and adopt environment-friendly practices.

Reduce Garbage -- Recycle Empty Inkjet Cartridges

The postage is included, and the whole process takes just a few seconds.

Another method of recycling is through the use of an inkjet cartridge refilling service such as the Jetpak mailer program.

The Jetpak mailer program works like this. In fact, a lots of companies that offer remanufactured cartridges have their own recycling programs.

One of the most popular methods for printer owners to recycle inkjet cartridges is through the use of postage paid return envelopes that are sometimes included with an online inkjet cartridge purchase. When you recycle your empty cartridges you provide empty cores to companies that can refill these cartridges, and put them back on the market at a discounted price. In a couple of days when the cartridge refilling company receives your cartridge, they will professionally inspect it, clean it, professionally refill it, and mail it back to the customer.

The customer receives their refilled cartr! idge back in about a week, and enjoys a big savings over buying a new cartridge. Did you know that over 300 million printer cartridges are thrown away each year? Why not recycle? This generates 75,000 tons of waste annually.

Another good reason to recycle inkjet cartridges is because it can saving money.

It just means that its prime for recycling. The consumer puts their empty inkjet cartridge into the bag, seals it, and drops it off at a post office or any mailbox.

It saves money, natural resources, reduces garbage and the strain on our landfills, and is the right thing to do.

Just because an empty inkjet cartridge is out of ink, doesn't mean it's broken. of oil to be manufactured. This can really add up over time.

The third reason to recycle empty inkjet cartridges, is because an inkjet cartridge will not break down for several hundred years once it makes it into the landfill.

ASAP In! kjets offers epson inkjet cartridges and laser toner at up to 80%
below retail store prices.
Recycling empty inkjet cartridges is an easy way for anybody to help to reduce the natural resources we consume.

Here the top 5 reasons to recycle your empty inkjet cartridges.

To begin with, each recycled cartridge will save nearly 3 pounds of natural resources that are used for the production of a new cartridge.

Next, an average inkjet cartridge takes an average of 3.5 oz.

Why recycle? We generate enough garbage as it is.
Signup for their free newsletter for tips & discount coupons at:
subscribe@asapinkjets.com or visit: http://www.asapinkjets.com/ A customer purchases a recycling kit (mailer) in advance. When the customer runs out of the ink they put the empty cartridge into a postage pre-paid return mailing envelope and simply drop it in the mail. It's like putting new batteries into your flashlight! .

Lastly, recycling your empty inkjet cartridges is relatively easy.

A return mailer (recycle envelope) is typically a self-sealing plastic bag that is pre-addressed to a recycling company. Empty inkjet cartridges are not broken, they are simply out of ink.

Understanding Global Warming and How It Affects You

Global warming is the direct opposite of global cooling, which also falls under climate change. This estimate can be affected by the ability and willingness of the present living generation of human beings to significantly cut down on greenhouse gas emissions. oil and gas) for power within the last 20 years. But many people are still ignorant of what this phenomenon is and how it affects even ordinary folk like you and me.

Global warming, strictly speaking, is the observed increase of the average temperature of the ocean and the near-surface air of Mother Earth as recorded for some decades now and is being felt at present.
The phenomenon known as global warming is already here and affecting us even as we speak. If communities throughout the world persist in using fossil fuels as a power source and cutting down forests at a rapid pace without replenishing forest stocks, then it is safe to assume that global warming will continue and may even escalate in the future.

Green Store UK sells eco friendly gifts and energy saving gadgets. Climate change, as used by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, is used to refer solely to climate change caused by human activities. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), much of the warming of the atmosphere and large bodies of water such as oceans can probably be directly attributed to the release of greenhouse gases starting predominantly from the middle of the 20th century, which tend to accumulate and produce the gre! enhouse effect.

The IPCC predicts that worldwide surface temperatures are estimated to increase further by 1.1 to 6.4 degrees Centigrade by year 2100. The problem is, even if much of the present levels of greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced, global warming is expected to still continue, perhaps even past year 2100, due to the capacity of oceans to retain absorbed heat.

Global temperatures are now causing a rise in the sea levels, more severe weather changes to be experienced, and a corresponding negative affect on precipitation amounts and behavior. We have various energy saving gadgets such as the Smart Adapter which is a remote control plug set which enables you to quickly and easily turn off electric items off standby. Anthropogenic global warming is another term used to describe change caused by human activities.

The human activity which has contributed the most to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would be burni! ng of fossil fuels (a.k.a. As a result, human agriculture act! ivities may have to change to match the changes in the weather, even as polar glaciers melt at an alarming rate, various species face extinction, and disease vector ranges fluctuate.

Governments are expected to play a major role in helping their citizens reduce the total greenhouse gases emitted by their country, particularly if these governments adhere to the Kyoto Protocol which many government leaders throughout the world agreed to and signed to show their intent to participate.

Global warming falls under the much more comprehensive term of climate change. Climate changes due to other causes falls under the term climate variability. Other human activities that have helped in the increase in warming of the global atmosphere could include deforestation, that falls under human land-use activities.

The Effects of Consumerism on the Environment

As a result most people are not altering their lifestyles, reducing their ecological footprint, resulting in a further increase of the present ecological imbalance.

With the continuing increase in environmental damage there will come a time where this will reach a point of no return, whereby the planet will no longer be able to support its own functioning. To save the environment humanity can no longer continue to increase its consumption of goods and, this should therefore not be encouraged. This will cause enormous ecological devastation in the future, to the extent that around 2025, people will need to complete major changes in their lifestyles to avoid the worst possible scenario.

The greenhouse gas effect is now so great that around 2015, the whole planet will experience the result of rising temperatures in a far more severe way than most people will expect.

While most people have begun to notice that the climate is changing they may not have understood that these climate changes are the forerunner of a much more serious problem. This will mainly be caused due to present geological stresses, further increase of global warming, and further destruction of the planet’s ecology which is so needed by the planet to provide support for its overall functioning.

It is of benefit for people to look at how they live their life and what they can do to change their lifestyle, so that an excessive need for goods and products will not become a major drive in one’s life. However, this is not reducing consumerism. These ecological imbalances will become a much greater problem than most people expect this to be.
We are at present in a situation where the planet’s ecology is not coping with all the pollution because of a huge, continuously increasing, consumer demand. This excessive demand for consumer goods has created most of the current ecological imbalances. The human race needs to envisage a future whereby people still have their comforts but without the throw-away and polluting aspects of living, as is happening in most modern-day societies.

It is important that the planet’s worsening environmental crisis is taken seriously and action is taken to make adequate change to prevent a looming ecological crisis within the next twenty years. These imbalances have already caused ecological disasters in different places all over the world, with many more to follow.

This rate of consumption is increasing at an alarming rate. At times, products may be needed to improve a lifestyle; however, people often wish to increase their buying and spending power and buy more products so they can feel better or can keep up with others. A simpler, less polluting lifestyle will result in a more manageable, sustainable environment, which as a result can function better as a support structure for the planet’s overall functioning. It is expected that by the year 2025, the planet will no longer be able to cope with the severe ecological damage. Thus, this need for an increase in products in the household creates an increase in the number of products manufactured, which in turn often results in an increase in environmental damage.

While humanity needs consumer goods, the impact these products or the production processes can have on the ecology has to be reduced. This may be difficult to do while the overall consensus is to buy more products.

Go Green -- Recycle Your Inkjet Cartridges

Here the top 5 reasons to recycle your empty inkjet cartridges.

A huge reason is that almost 3 entire pounds of resources involved in production are saved when a cartridge is recycled.

It saves money, natural resources, reduces garbage and the strain on our landfills, and is the right thing to do.

Just because an empty inkjet cartridge is out of ink, doesn't mean it's broken. Estimates are that over 300 million printer cartridges are thrown into landfills every year. In fact, a lots of companies that offer remanufactured cartridges have their own recycling programs.

An easy method for people to recycle inkjet cartridges is through the use of postage paid re! turn envelopes that are sometimes included with an online inkjet cartridge purchase. of oil will be saved. When the cartridge refilling company receives the empty cartridge, the refilling service cleans, inspects, and professionally refills the cartridges and mails it back to the customer.

The customer receives their refilled cartridge back in about a week, and enjoys a big savings over buying a new cartridge. The user puts their empty inkjet cartridge into the bag, seals it, and drops it off at a post office or any mailbox. An inkjet cartridge does not biodegrade in a landfill, as other waste will over time. To put things into perspective, the 75,000 tons of waste it generates is equal in weight to over 30,000 African elephants.

The forth reason is that recycled and remanufactured inkjet cartridges save money.

Eco-friendly Printing ÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂàthe better way to print!

The goal is to switch over to eco-friendly printing.

Eco-friendly printing has a larger scope than many would realize.

The flip side of the picture is rather disturbing. Certified eco-friendly printing services keep track of the total energy usage and implement strategies that reduce the harmful impact brought about by their businesses on the environment. Studies show that these compounds, when inhaled, greatly increase the risk of asthma attacks. The proliferation of digital technology and the prospect of ‘paperless’ offices have done little to lessen its popularity. The essence of eco-friendly is in finding the perfect balance between the two. The answer is easy. In this age marked by a heightened awareness about environmental issues, there is an all round effort to go green, stop environmental pollution and save the planet we live in. Paper production, the electricity used for factory operations, as well as the actual printing process, demands plenty of fossil fuels. We are evaluating our actions and trying to understand the harmful impact

Speaking of industries, the printing industry is surprisingly one of the most harmful ones.
The drive to save the planet from pollution is on and everybody is doing their bit. Consequently, measures are being adopted by many printers worldwide to comply with existing regulations and adopt environment-friendly practices. Let’s face it, printing services are still in much demand everywhere, even in this electronic era. Eco-friendly printing is actually all about being a ‘sustainable’ printing process. Eco-friendly printing carefully plan operations to minimize electricity use, curb the drain on natural resources and source paper from companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which is synonymous with well-managed forests that adhere to strict environmental standards. With eco-friendly printing, you can get all your printing done to your complete satisfaction and yet stay ‘green’ all the way. We are taking a fresh lo! ok at industries and commercial organizations, which have long been blamed, to varying extents, for polluting the environment and depleting the earth’s natural resources. It also means recycling and reusing paper and other supplies whenever possible.

Where can we fit into this picture? One would be astonished to learn that paper and printing industry ranks fourth among manufacturers on the scale of energy usage. It is easy to understand the huge strain that conventional printing puts on the planet and her natural resources.

The answer to end this destruction is to switch over to eco-friendly printing. We can start by trying to send all our printing jobs to eco-friendly printers. Printing jobs are still widely sought after today and printing presses everywhere are brimming over with a steady flow of orders everyday. Printers such as Bacchus Press have successfully implemented eco-friendly, ‘green’ measures into every aspect of their printing process. What is important to realize is that the issue of conservation is no less important than the need to stop polluting the environment. Like most other production operations, printing houses also produce harmful wastes that pollute the air we breathe in and also put a great drain on precious natural resources. Printing houses emit what are known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), caused by the use of petroleum-based inks, laminates, varnishes and adhesives.

The bottomline is, premium quality printing jobs need not be accomplished at a cost to the environment. There is no dearth of such printers offering eco-friendly printing services.

Green Printing âÃÂàEnvironment Friendly Printing âÃÂàEnvironment Friendly Printing for a Greener Fut

It is more of a change that has been necessitated by our growing concern about the environment.

Frankly, mankind has never been more concerned about environmental issues than now. Did you know that the paper and printing industry ranks fourth among manufacturers in the amount of energy used?

The way out of this madness is embracing green printing. In other words, it means carefully planning operations to minimize electricity use, putting a lighter drain on natural resources and sourcing paper from companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). More and more people are choosing green printing services with increasing enthusiasm. Amidst all this wonderful prosperity of the printing industry, lies the germ of destruction. Commercial institutions and industries have long been the silent culprit behind polluting the environment and slowly but surely, exhausting the earth’s natural resources. We have started to reappraise many facets of our daily lives in the light of the impact they have on the environment. Green printing is not just about adopting measures that check environmental pollution, but also about conserving our natural resources. In fact, the issue of conservation is no less important than the need to stop polluting the envi! ronment. Green printing only attempts to combine both.

Let's look at the printing industry as a case in point. This rising awareness has necessitated the need to take a fresh look at our industries too. The promise of a 'paperless' world is ye to be realized fully. The products we use have come under scrutiny. So have many of our habits such as those related to our power consumption, waste disposal and so on. Let's go green today! The keyword is being 'sustainable'. Apart from polluting the environment, they also pose a grave risk to our health. These are typically known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), caused by the use of petroleum-based inks, laminates, varnishes and adhesives. Like most other production operations, printing houses also produce harmful wastes. Studies show that these compounds, if inhaled, increase the risk of asthma attacks.
Green printing is the latest rage all around. Everyday, an ever growing number of printers the world over are switching over to green printing. Producing paper and the electricity used for factory operations, as well as the actual printing process, demand lots of fossil fuels. No doubt, printing services are still among the most sought after services on the planet. Printing jobs are still in much need today and printing presses everywhere are keeping busy with a steady flow of orders everyday.

This is where the problem lies. It also involves recycling and reusing paper and other supplies whenever possible.

Let us not forget for a moment that it is only through green printing we can ensure a truly green tomorrow for our children. However, it will be wrong to call it just a fad. At home, at office, and elsewhere â€ÂÂ" the need for paper and paper products doesn't seem to diminish. Mankind still needs paper.

Printers, thus, put a major strain on the planet, draining her natural resources in alarming magnitude.

Qualified eco-friendly green printing services not only keep track of the total energy usage, but also adopt strategies for offsetting the adverse effects of their operations on the environment.
